The Yamaha Festival State Cup Series 2012
The 2012 South Australian Festival State Cup
series will consist of a 5 round series for all classes.
It commences with a 2 day country round at Mt Gambier in March.
The series major sponsor is again Yamaha Motor Australia who will be giving
away a brand new KT100 direct drive engine.
#1 The Festival State
Cup will consist of a single 5 round series
in 2012.
The series scoring system will be 50 points for 1st , 48 points
for 2nd, 47 points for 3rd etc with one round dropped
by each driver, making 4 out of the 5 rounds to count toward the final
result.
#2
The points scoring system of 0, 2, 3 etc
applies for 4 heats at each round. The number of laps to be determined by the individual
lap distance of the track used at each round, with all 4 heats at a round
being run over the same distance.
Gridding is by draw , reverse draw for heats one and two, then lowest
accumulated points to the front for heat 3 , and heat 4 is gridded on the
finishing order of heat 3.
( like a championship pre-final result allocates grids for the final )
Where points are tied, competitors will be separated using Chapter 16, rule
16.14 in the
2011 rulebook.
The championship points system will be used giving non-finishers in any heat
a position in order of laps completed.
#3
Sportsman SA
will be run under state based rules and has the following eligibilty rules imposed. Any
senior driver may compete in the class at any round, however the top 3
placegetters in this class from the previous year's FSC series will be
ineligible to score points in the series itself, thus only gaining any awards
won on the day of competition. The same will apply to any open, closed or
national championship winners from any class, ie all blue,
black, green or red plate holders will be ineligible to gain points towards
the series awards in this class.
#4 For a driver to gain points
in the Festival State Cup series at any round there must be a minimum of 5
drivers entered in that class at that round.
#5 For a driver to be included
in the overall results of a class in the Festival State Cup series they must
compete at a minimum of 3 rounds of the series in that class.

that they are all of a similar distance throughout the series, meaning that at

on the chosen track configuration for the meeting.

#1 thru to #8 in classes each calendar year based on the previous years FSC
results.
#14
Entries received after the closing
date for a FSC meeting will not be included in the grid draw for the first two
heats of that meeting and will start rear of grid ( but in front of p-platers
). Thereafter in heats 3 and 4 they will be gridded by the usual method.
#15
Tied points countback procedure
at the end of the series. If two drivers are tied on their series pointscore
, the tiebreak is on the most number of race wins, then second placings, third
placings etc, taken from the rounds at which the driver’s overall series
scores were awarded. This may not be the same rounds for each of the drivers
involved in the tie-break.
#16 The
generosity of our series sponsors allows lots of great additional prizes at
the end of the year, from sets of tyres, engines, shirts, stickers, caps and
lots of other great merchandise. A driver must have entered and raced in
at least 3 rounds of the series and be present at the presentation
dinner to be eligible for these prizes.
