There is one combined rounds
at which some classes will run all 4 heats on a single day, however the
majority will be spread over the 2 days. The races are to be
arranged so that they are all of a similar distance throughout the series,
meaning that at Barossa there will be 10 lap heats, Bolivar are 8 laps and
Monarto will depend on the chosen track configuration for the meeting.
The new classes of Sportsman 125 Light and Heavy have been introduced and will
be run under state based rules. Please look here
for the local regulations for these classes.
The Festival State Cup Series rules for 2010.
#1
The points scoring system of 0, 2, 3 etc
applies for 4 heats. The number of laps to be determined by the individual
lap distance of the track used at each round, with all 4 heats at a round
being run over the same distance.
Gridding is by draw , reverse draw for heats one and two, then lowest
accumulated points to the front for heat 3 , and heat 4 is gridded on the
finishing order of heat 3.
( like a championship pre-final result allocates grids for the final )
The championship pouints system will be used giving non-finishers in any heat
a position in order of laps completed.
#2 The listed
support classes must be offered by the organisers in Supp Regs. These classes
will run 4 heats on the day in the same format as the FSC classes in daylight
saving months, and 3 heats on the day for the rest of the year.
#3 9 race meetings
in 2010 make up two 5 round series.
The series scoring system will be 50pts for 1st , 48 points
for 2nd, 47 points for 3rd etc with one round dropped
by each driver, making 4 out of the 5 rounds to count toward the final
result.
#4 Sportsman SA has the following eligibilty rules imposed. Any
senior driver may compete in the class at any round, however the top 3
placegetters in this class from the previous year's FSC series will be
ineligible to score points in the series itself, thus only gaining any awards
won on the day of competition. The same will apply to any open, closed or
national championship winners from any class, ie all blue,
black, green or red plate holders will be ineligible to gain points towards
the series awards in this class.
#5 For a driver to gain points
in the Festival State Cup series at any round there must be a minimum of 3
drivers entered and competing in that class at that round.
#6 For a driver to be included
in the overall results of a class in the Festival State Cup series they must
compete at a minimum of 3 rounds of the series in that class.
#7 For a class to be included in
the overall series results of the Festival State Cup, ie have trophies and
plates awarded at the presentation dinner, that class must have been run at a
minimum of 3 rounds in the series with its minimum 3 entrants at each
round.
#8 The
generosity of our series sponsors allows lots of great additional prizes at
the end of the year, from sets of tyres, engines, shirts, stickers, caps and
lots of other great merchandise. A driver must have entered and raced in
at least 3 rounds of the series and be present at the presentation
dinner to be eligible for these prizes. ( also see item #21 for Rotax classes

#11 At combined rounds
some classes will run all 4 heats on a single day, and the majority will be
spread over the 2 days, ie 2 heats on day one and two heats on day 2.
#12 Two day meetings combining groups A
and B are held at country circuits only.
#13 There will only be one country round
held in any single year/series.
#14 The races are to be arranged so
that they are all of a similar distance throughout the series, meaning that at
Barossa there will be 10 lap heats, Bolivar are 8 laps and Monarto will depend
on the chosen track configuration for the meeting.
#15 Sportsman 125 Light and
Heavy will be run under state based rules. All 125's are running on MG red
tyres for the dry and Dunlop SLW1 wets for rain. Class weights are 160kg (
lights ) and 180kg ( heavies ) for Rotax and X-30 engined karts, and 155kg (
lights ) and 175kg ( heavy ) for Leopard RL engined karts. There may be
performance and/or driver restrictions introduced at any time.
#16 There will be practise available at the track on Friday for
a 2 day country round, the times to be advised by the organising club. The
organising club are to offer all of the first morning as an open practise.
(usually Saturday morning )
#17 The AKA of SA awards number plates
#1 thru to #8 in classes each calendar year based on the previous years FSC
results.
#18 Entries received after the closing
date for a FSC meeting will not be included in the grid draw for the first two
heats of that meeting and will start rear of grid ( but in front of p-platers
). Thereafter in heats 3 and 4 they will be gridded by the usual method.
#19
Tied points countback procedure
at the end of the series. If two drivers are tied on their series pointscore
, the tiebreak is on the most number of race wins, then second placings, third
placings etc, taken from the rounds at which the driver’s overall series
scores were awarded. This may not be the same rounds for each of the drivers
involved in the tie-break.
#20
Entry fee for eligible classes
at FSC rounds is $60 for all Rotax classes, $50 for all other classes, and
$40 for support classes.
#21 In the Rotax classes
a driver must have entered and raced in at least 4 rounds of the series
and be present at the presentation dinner to be eligible for the engine
prize draw. The winner can choose either a junior or senior Rotax Max engine.
Each person who enters an event will be given a ticket in the draw for each
round that they compete, therefore the more rounds you race, the more chances
you have to win the engine.
