Whyalla kart Club would like to congratulate Brayden Stewart on winning the prestigious Kevin Jenner Sportsmanship Award. This is a perpetual trophy that is awarded to the South Australian driver that has shown excellent sportsmanship, great commitment and continual improvement throughout the season. This is the first time the award has gone to a country based young driver and shows how well respected Brayden is amongst the Karting community.

Brayden Stewart has been racing karts for 5 years, the first 3 years at club level and the last 2 years he has travelled around 20 times to compete at numerous title events throughout the State.

Brayden has scored many podium finishes, taking away trophies and prizes and best of all has improved his karting skills and knowledge through racing against some of the best young drivers in Australia.

2017 was a stellar year for Brayden, who finished 3rd in the Cadet 12 class at the state series. The State series was fought throughout the year over 3 rounds at different circuits in and around Adelaide.

Prizes included:

3rd place series trophy

4 day Adelaide 500 tickets with pit pass x 4

4 hrs driver training in Adelaide with top running kart team

Karting merchandise

And the accolades of finishing in the top 3 at State level.

The Whyalla Kart club and greater karting community look forward to watching Brayden in the future as he takes on the challenges of the Junior category. He will be competing in the highest level of Karting next year at the 5 round National series, all except the Adelaide round will be held interstate as far as Emerald in Queensland. The racing will be extremely tough with the best Karter’s from around the country attending these meetings and with fields of 40 karts per race, everything will need to be right for him to do well. Goodluck.
